Lip Injection Fillers

Both of these fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, a sugar that occurs naturally in the skin. These products safely add volume with virtually no risk of allergic reaction, since they are not derived from animal products. Each of these fillers can plump and smooth the lips, while maintaining a natural appearance. Lip Injection Treatment

Lip injection treatment is fast, safe, and pain-free. Most lip fillers contain lidocaine or other anesthetizing agents, but we can also provide a topical numbing cream to ensure that our Ottawa patients are completely comfortable throughout their procedure. 

During treatment a series of injections are placed in the upper and/or lower lip. We use ultra-fine needles for this procedure, so patients should feel nothing more than a slight pinching sensation as it is administered. The number of injections applied during treatment will depend on how much volume is desired and whether both the upper and lower lip are being treated. Based on the number of injections a patient receives, treatment can be complete in as little as 15 minutes. Even with multiple injections, treatment should last no more than one hour.

How Long Do Results Last?

Lip injections are not permanent, but they can provide long-lasting results. Some filler products, including Juvederm Volbella®, can last up to one full year. The great thing about fillers is that, as treatment results begin to wear off, patients can schedule maintenance appointments to restore the volume they desire.
