Selphyl Or PRP By Nimit D on May 1, 2015

An Interesting fact is that PRP treatment has been reported to play a key role in the process of wound and soft tissue healing outside of Cosmetic Surgery. It is often use for Burn Patients and injected in joints to promote healing of tendons, ligaments, and muscle.  The benefice of Selphyl is now available as an option for Rejuvenation of the Face.

How is this Treatment achieved?

This procedure is easily done in our Ottawa office, under the care of Dr Brownrigg.

He will start by collecting a small volume of your blood with strict aseptic technique.  Since it is your own tissues there is no chances of rejection, allergy or reaction to a foreign substance.

This small amount of blood (approximately 10 cc), will then be place in a Centrifuge to separate out the red blood cells and the white blood cells from the platelet rich plasma.   The PRP is then re-injected in your tissue to promote volume to smooth out wrinkles, promote Collagen production and restore firmness to the skin.

The longevity of the results of Selphyl treatments vary based on the extent of the procedure, areas treated, and the number of sessions.

Please contact our office should you require additional information or if you would like to book a consult with Dr Brownrigg.
